Shire Hall Gallery, Stafford

The Shire Hall Gallery is an exciting and innovative contemporary visual art gallery. It hosts a diverse programme of lively and family friendly temporary art and craft exhibitions throughout the year and has a registered craft shop stocking quality one-off work by British designer-makers as well as a coffee shop serving a range of drinks and snacks.

Visitors can also explore the historic Victorian Crown Court which still stands within this listed building, learn about the fate of the people who stood in the dock and see the holding cells where prisoners would await trial.

The gallery has a regular programme of activities and events ranging from art for the under fives through to master classes with professional artists. There's also a multi-sensory room, which is available to all visitors free of charge and can be used to stimulate the senses of babies, toddlers and special needs visitors.
